Ski Rentals Near Snowbird: Shop vs the Resort

The closest full-service rental shop to Snowbird that is not on the mountain is The Lifthouse — about 18 minutes down Little Cottonwood, at 3700 Fort Union Blvd. Packages, drive time, and FAQs live on ski rentals near Snowbird. Rent at the resort if

• Your flight lands after we close and you are staying on the mountain.
• Something broke at lunch and you need a replacement without driving down.
• You have no car and the lodge shuttle is your only move.

Snowbird Sports, Christy at Snowbird, and the Creekside shop exist for those days. They also exist to catch people who did not plan. Expect higher prices and a line on a 12-inch morning. That line is made of people who could have picked up in Cottonwood Heights at 5pm the day before.

Pick up at the junction if

You have a car, you are staying in the valley or at the mouth of the canyon, and you want sport from $35 or a demo from $70 with bindings set before you hit UDOT restrictions. There is no rental shop between Fort Union and the Snowbird entry. Once you pass us, the next counter is the resort.

We do not deliver to the lodge, to Snowbird, or to anyone's Airbnb. Skis on the Run and similar outfits do. If the gear has to appear at the room, that is their product. Ours is pickup at the last shop before the canyon.

Little Cottonwood logistics

Storm days: AWD/4WD or chains when UDOT says so. Check udottraffic.utah.gov. Parking reservations at Snowbird fill; renting at 7:40am in the resort shop is how you miss first tram. Pick up the night before. Snowbird vs Alta if your group has not chosen a mountain yet — Alta does not allow snowboards, which changes the rental entirely.
