Our Boot Fitting Process

Most shops skip the steps that matter most. We don't.

01

Foot Assessment

We measure both feet — length, width, arch height, and any anatomical quirks like bunions or high insteps.

02

Skiing Style & Goals

We ask about your skill level, preferred terrain, and performance goals. A bump skier and a groomer cruiser need very different boots.

03

Shell Fit Testing

We test the shell (the hard plastic) without the liner to get the true fit picture. This is the most important step most shops skip.

04

Liner & Footbed

Once the shell is dialed, we optimize the liner fit and assess whether custom footbeds will improve your power transfer and comfort.

05

Walk Out Ready

Before you leave, we ensure everything is dialed — buckles, power straps, flex — so you hit the mountain with confidence.

Boot Fitting FAQs

A thorough boot fitting session typically takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. We take the time to do it right — don't rush this process.

Bring any current ski socks you use, and if you have existing orthotics or insoles, bring those too. If you have your current boots (even if they don't fit well), bring them so we can understand what's been working and what hasn't.

Appointments are recommended to ensure one of our expert fitters is available for you. Walk-ins are welcome but may need to wait. Call (801) 943-1104 to schedule.

Boot fitting consultations are typically included when purchasing boots from us. Custom boot work (punching, grinding, footbed modifications) starts at $100+ and is quoted based on what your specific fit requires.

Often yes — many fit issues can be resolved with modifications like shell punching, liner work, or custom footbeds without buying new boots. Our fitters will assess your current boots first.

ZipFit Liners

We fit ZipFit liners

ZipFit liners use a cork and cage system rather than foam, which means they pack out far less than a stock liner and can be tuned by adding or moving material rather than replaced. For a skier who has a boot shell that fits but a liner that has gone soft, they often solve the problem without buying a new boot.

They are not for everyone and they are not cheap. Come in and we will tell you honestly whether your fit problem is a liner problem, a shell problem, or a footbed problem — the three get confused constantly.
